1 Getting started

VibeSync connects two or more people so one person's device(s) can be controlled by someone they trust, in real time, with consent that can be checked and withdrawn at any moment. Here's the shape of it:

👥
Create or join
Start a new session from the Sessions tab, or join someone else's with a session code.
🛡️
Consent & safety
Consent is asked for explicitly and can be revoked by either person at any point.
📡
Connect & control
Connect your device in-browser, then control or be controlled inside the session.

Before any of that, every account goes through email verification and date-of-birth age verification at registration — VibeSync is 18+ only, and this is checked server-side, not just with a checkbox.

2 How sessions work

A session is a private "room" owned by one person — the device owner. From the Sessions tab you can:

  • Start a session as the device owner, choosing whether you want to be controlled or are offering to control someone else. Add optional tags (like Sensory, Roleplay, or First time) so people browsing can find a session matching what they're looking for. There's also an optional "looking for" filter for who can see it in Browse — leave every option unselected (the default) and anyone can find it; pick a gender identity to narrow it down, and click your selection again to clear it back to anyone.
  • Join with a code if someone has shared their session code with you directly.
  • Browse public sessions if the owner has chosen to make theirs visible and joinable without a code.

Every session is private by default — a session only becomes browsable if its owner explicitly sets it to public. Sessions are also capped at five participants, always — there's no "party mode" or unlimited crowd option, by design. With more than one participant, a roster strip shows everyone currently in the session, and each person's controls are color-coded so it's always clear who owns what.

My Session — once you're in an active session, a dedicated "My Session" tab appears in your sidebar with the live controls, session chat, and participant list for that session specifically.

Inside a session, each connected device shows up as its own floating control window, visible to every participant with control permission and updating live for all of them the moment anyone moves a slider. You can drag a window by its title bar, resize it from the bottom-right corner, and minimize it to a small dock if it's in the way. With several devices open, Tidy up arranges every window into a clean grid in one click. Each control is labeled by what it actually does rather than a generic name — a two-motor toy shows something like "Insertable Shaft — Vibrate" and "External Arm — Vibrate" instead of two identical-looking "Motor" sliders, whenever the device itself provides that detail; otherwise it falls back to naming the motor position instead of leaving it unlabeled. The Handy specifically gets a stroke range control with two independent handles instead of one — drag either end to set where the stroke starts and stops, or drag the highlighted middle section to slide the whole range up or down without changing its width.

4 Device compatibility

Devices connect straight from your browser — for most brands, there's nothing to install. VibeSync talks to devices using the same open protocol library that powers Intiface, so if your device works with Intiface Central, it works here too. For the full, searchable list — including exactly which two devices get purpose-built support versus general Bluetooth compatibility — see the device compatibility checker.

🌐
The Handy
Connects over the internet via its own API — no Bluetooth needed, works across any distance.

Browser requirement: Bluetooth devices need a browser with Web Bluetooth support — Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium-based browser. Safari and Firefox don't support Web Bluetooth yet, so Bluetooth devices won't be able to connect there. The Handy doesn't have this restriction, since it connects over the internet rather than Bluetooth.

On iPhone or iPad: iOS Safari can't do Web Bluetooth at all — and since Apple requires every iOS browser to use Safari's engine underneath, that limit applies no matter which browser app you open, Chrome for iOS included. Use the Bluefy — Web BLE Browser app instead, which adds the Web Bluetooth support iOS otherwise leaves out, then open VibeSync from inside it the same way you'd open it in Safari.

5 Community, friends & messages

Community is the site-wide chat room — a shared space to chat, ask questions, and meet people, separate from any individual session. You can @mention people to get their attention, react with emoji, and see who's currently online in the sidebar.

Friends works the way you'd expect: send a request, the other person accepts or declines, and once you're friends you can see each other's online status and message directly. You can also block anyone, at any time, which quietly removes their ability to contact or add you.

Messages holds your one-to-one direct message threads, kept separate from the public Community chat. From your Profile, you can control who's allowed to message you — everyone, friends only, or no one — at any time.

The notification bell in the header keeps a running list of anything needing your attention — friend requests, new messages, and similar — so you don't have to go hunting for them.

6 Voice & video calls

Sessions support live voice and video between participants who've been granted view video permission, connected peer-to-peer for the lowest possible latency. If a direct connection can't be established — common on stricter mobile networks or corporate Wi-Fi — VibeSync automatically relays the call through a TURN server instead, so the call still connects rather than failing silently.

Like device control, video access is its own separate consent grant — being able to control a device doesn't automatically mean you can see video, and vice versa.

7 Reporting & Trust and Safety

If someone's behavior crosses a line — in a session, in Community chat, or in a DM — you can report them directly from their profile or from the message itself. Reports go straight to staff and are never visible to the person you reported.

Every report goes through the same process: it starts Open, moves to Under review once staff picks it up, and ends Closed with an outcome recorded.

You can see that process happening — without anyone's identity attached — on the Trust & Safety Center tab in your dashboard. It shows report status and the resulting action (a warning, a suspension, content removed, or no action needed) without ever showing who reported or who was reported. It's there so the process is visible, even though the people in it aren't.

8 Account & security

  • Two-factor authentication. Turn on authenticator-app 2FA from your Profile for a second layer of protection on login. You can mark a device as remembered for 7 days so you're not asked for a code every single time.
  • Forgot your password? Use the Forgot password link from the sign-in page — a reset code is emailed to your account's address.
  • Profile & privacy. Your avatar, bio, pronouns, and toy preferences are all editable from Profile, including whether your pronouns are shown publicly. You can also list interests (like Sensory, Roleplay, or First time) that show up to people browsing your sessions.
  • Your data, on demand. From Profile, Download my data gives you a single file with everything VibeSync holds that identifies you — profile, sessions, messages, consent history, and more — covering your UK GDPR right of access and data portability without needing to email anyone.
  • Deleting your account. Also in Profile, Delete my account permanently deletes your account after confirming your password — this is a real deletion, not a deactivation, and can't be undone.

9 Troubleshooting

ProblemTry this
Device won't connect Make sure you're on Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium browser (see Device compatibility), that Bluetooth is turned on, and that the device is powered on and not already connected in another app or browser tab. On iPhone or iPad, use the Bluefy app instead — no iOS browser, Chrome included, supports Web Bluetooth.
Video or audio won't connect Check your browser has camera/microphone permission for the site. If a call won't connect on a restrictive network (office or school Wi-Fi), it should still fall back to a relayed connection within a few seconds — if it doesn't, try switching networks.
Session code isn't working Codes are case-sensitive and tied to one specific session — double check it was copied in full, and confirm with the session owner that it's still active.
Locked out after too many login attempts Your account temporarily locks after repeated failed logins as a security measure. Wait a few minutes and try again, or use Forgot password to reset and clear the lock.
Lost access to your authenticator app Contact support from the Still need help? section below — staff can verify your identity and help restore access.
Controls feel laggy or delayed Commands travel over your live connection to the site, so a slow or unstable network on either end will show up as lag. A wired or stronger Wi-Fi connection usually resolves it.

10 Still need help?

If this guide didn't cover it, use the Feedback tab in your dashboard to send a message straight to the team — it's the fastest way to reach us for anything account-specific or technical.

For anything involving another person's safety or conduct, use reporting instead of Feedback, so it reaches staff through the right channel.
